About Us

Parkwood Contractors are specialist contractors with expertise in the field of structural repairs. Our wide range of structural expertise and repair strategies cover a variety of structures, which include normal domestic properties through to large structures of historical importance such as cathedrals, churches and castles and civil engineering projects, including bridges and retaining walls.

Our client base ranges from domestic customers to insurance companies, Loss Adjusters, Structural Engineers, Local Authorities, Main Contractors and Commercial Organisations. Some of our clients include Morrisons Supermarkets, the Archbishop of York and The National Trust, to name a few.

We provide cost-effective solutions for the repair of damaged and structurally unsafe buildings. Our portfolio ranges from repairs to timber bridges, ground anchors in retaining walls through to structural repairs at Yorkminster!

Our goal is to ensure our clients experience a professional yet friendly service; our office staff are fully trained to discuss technical queries.

All our site technicians are qualified up to NVQ level and the whole on site workforce hold CSCS cards. All work is overseen by Site Supervisors and signed off accordingly and with the issuing of company guarantees where applicable.

What We Offer:

Inspection & Design

Parkwood Contractors offer services to work alongside Engineers, Loss Adjusters and other professionals with inspections of properties/structures and provide help and guidance on the specifying and scheduling of repair strategies. We also offer a design service for structural waterproofing.

Our Services

Cintec Anchor installation

We install anchors ranging from 200mm to 9metres long and beyond. We have been installing Cintec anchors for over 30 years.

Helical bar installation for crack stitching and beaming

We regularly undertake installation of crack stitching, lateral restraints and the like using products from manufacturers such as Helifix.

Ground Anchors

When a client has a retaining wall that needs to be stabilised, we offer various techniques for the installation of restraint in the form of ground anchors which can be installed in ways that are less conspicuous than many others methods available.

Structural Waterproofing

With help from our sister company BAR Preservation we can offer structural waterproofing design and installation of waterproofing to below ground structures in accordance with BS8102:2022 offering long term guarantees for works undertaken.

Rotafix Timber Repairs & Replacement

Where decay, beetle infestation or general weakening of structural timber has occurred, we have our own ‘in house’ trained technicians who can undertake repairs and treatments with modern methods including resin repairs.

Wall Ties

We often install wall ties to tie the inner and outer leaves of a building together after failure or corrosion of the original ties, or to enhance the stability of a wall.

Concrete Repairs

We undertake concrete repairs using proprietary product on bridges and buildings.

Specialist Brickwork & Stonework Repairs

We offer stonework repairs, masonry repairs, cleaning & repointing alongside our structural repairs to offer a complete package to clients.

Bishopthorpe Palace

This fine property dates back to circa 1226 with additions added in the 1400's & 1700's, the palace has been the home to the Archbishops of York for over 750 years.

Lowther Castle, Penrith, Lake District

Ten years ago Parkwood Contractors was summoned to Lowther Castle by Blackett-Ord Conservation Engineers for a site meeting to discuss the practicality of drilling and stitching the castellated parapets and towers together.

Blue Vue Mills, Skipton

Parkwood were asked to inspect the basement of this Mill to look at designing and installing a waterproofing system. The basement at this time was completely flooded with fresh moisture ingress occurring at all times. During rainfall you could expect 50 plus litres of water per minute to ingress.

Banchory Devenich Bridge, Aberdeenshire

Parkwood Contractors were selected to install large Cintec Anchors to consolidate the wing walls of a stone built bridge along a busy 'A' road just outside of Aberdeen alongside the River Dee.

Holme Bridge, Burnley

Holme Bridge Burnley is a Reinforced Concrete Motorway Bridge spanning the River Calder supporting all lanes of the M65 Motorway. On one side of the river the main support beams were suffering from corrosion of the reinforcing bars and as a result the concrete was deteriorating and laminating.
